Bolton Wanderers in the Community Appoints Ben Lawton as Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Trustees of Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) has today announced the appointment of Ben Lawton as its new Chief Executive Officer. Ben, who has served with distinction as Deputy CEO, will assume leadership of the organisation immediately.

The appointment comes at a critical time for community-based charities across the UK, which are facing a convergence of rising operational costs and unprecedented demand for services.

Dave Singleton, Chair of BWitC, commented on the appointment: “The Board is delighted to confirm Ben as our new CEO. He possesses the strategic vision, deep-rooted community connections and passion for Bolton that this role requires.

“Ben has been a key architect of our success and his promotion from within ensures the stability and experienced leadership needed to guide our charity forward. At a time when our community needs us most, we have a leader who is ready to build on our strong foundations and continue delivering impactful results.”

Ben’s association with the organisation spans more than two decades, during which he has played a central part in its strategic development and operational management. His career has been dedicated to community sports management and social development, with roles at other regional bodies including the Lancashire Outdoor Activities Initiative.

“I am incredibly honoured to be given the opportunity to lead this fantastic organisation,” said Ben.

“Having been part of its journey for so long, I know the real-world difference our team makes every day. Our work is a lifeline for many and my commitment is to deepen the powerful connection between this football club and the people of our town. We will continue to work tirelessly towards our vision of ‘One Club, One Community, One Town’.
