Bolton Wanderers in the Community Celebrates Win at Bolton Business Awards 2025
Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) are pleased to share that we have been awarded the Apprenticeships, Skills and Training Award at the Bolton Business Awards 2025!
The ceremony, held on Friday 26th September at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, brought together organisations from across the town to celebrare the incredible work happening across our town. To kick off the evening in style, BWitC were honoured to be the very first winners announced.
This award celebrates businesses and organisations that have placed apprenticeships, training, and skills development at the heart of their work, giving young people across Bolton the opportunity to grow, thrive, and build meaningful careers. For BWitC, this recognition is a testament to the impact of our employability programmes, which continue to create pathways for young people across Bolton.
Riley Brown, our Events and Business Administrator, shared a special perspective, having recently completed his own apprenticeship with BWitC before moving into a permanent role supporting events and business operations “My apprenticeship with Bolton Wanderers in the Community has made me more confident in the workplace and prepared me for my future. It means a lot to now be able to collect the award on behalf of the charity having completed my apprenticeship.”
Alongside Riley was Sarah Moraes, BWitC’s Employability Development Lead, who oversees the charity’s employability provision, ensuring opportunities like apprenticeships remain a vital part of what we do.
Speaking on the award BWitC’s Head of Community, Richard Slater, said “We are delighted to be awarded the Apprenticeships, Skills and Training Award at this year’s Bolton Business Awards. We believe in creating sustainable pathways that transform the lives of young people across Bolton and our apprentices are a big part of this work. This recognition celebrates the dedication of our team and the determination of the young people who work hard to complete their apprenticeships.”
This award is a proud moment for the entire BWitC team and underlines our ongoing commitment to helping young people in Bolton achieve their potential.
We’d like to thank the Bolton Business Awards for this incredible recognition and, most importantly, our dedicated staff and apprentices who make all of this possible. Find out more about the evening HERE
