Bolton Unity Festival a Huge Success!

You’ve probably heard that before kick off on Easter Monday against Accrington Stanley, as part of The Bolton Unity Project we hosted the very first Bolton Unity Festival! The Bolton Unity Project is an alliance of six partner organisations, including ourselves, aiming to bring together different faiths and cultural groups to celebrate unity and diversity across Bolton.

The event was a resounding success. Whilst Bolton FM broadcast the entire event, over 2,000 people were in attendance including BWFC Chairman Sharon Brittan and BWFC CEO Neil Hart. There were over 60 stalls to visit comprised of local business’, communities, charities and organisations. International food was also on offer as well as dance performances from the Hindu Forum Dancers and an Irish Dance troupe. Games and activities such as Foot-Darts and soft Archery were in full flow, there was even an hourly parade!

Free match-day tickets were also distributed to some of the disadvantaged communities we work with. This ran alongside the second designated Family Day fixture of the season for the club, a promotion which aims to make fixtures as accessible as possible for the whole of Bolton.
